MCS
MarCom Role Builder
A stakeholder survey for defining your school’s next marketing and communications role

Why this exists

Most schools write a marketing and communications job description the same way: find a posting from a peer school, change the name, add every request each department has been sitting on, and send it to HR. The result is a role nobody could succeed in, measured by nothing, hired by title instead of by need.

This tool works differently. Before anyone writes a word of the job description, your school answers a short set of questions from several perspectives at once. The agreements tell you what to write. The disagreements tell you what leadership needs to decide first. Both are findings.

How it works

Step 1Choose five to seven respondents: the head of school (non-negotiable), the CFO, admission and advancement leadership, a current marketing or communications staff member if the team exists, and one wildcard office that competes for attention.
Step 2Everyone answers alone, in writing, with a one-week deadline. Send each person the same survey link. The independence matters: the moment people coordinate, you lose the spread, and the spread is the most valuable thing this tool produces.
Step 3The dashboard tabulates the answers, charts the patterns, flags the decisions only leadership can make, and drafts the job description. You settle the open decisions in a single one-hour meeting, then post.

Run the survey at your school

You get two links: a survey link to send your respondents, and a private dashboard link that collects the answers and builds the synthesis. Takes ten seconds.

Already have links?

Open the survey or dashboard link you were sent. Respondents need nothing but their link. If you only have the six-character survey code, enter it here.
